Lenten Season

Lent is a Christian tradition that is observed in many denominations. It is the hallowed forty-day period
of sacrifice leading up to Jesus' death and Resurrection. Lent begins with the observance of Ash Wednesday, a day in which people who have not abstained from meat all year for the previous six weeks are expected to do so, and consists of forty days' worth of fasting.

Lent is traditionally a time of prayer, fasting, and repentance as Christians prepare for Easter. Lenten season usually begins on Ash Wednesday and lasts until Holy Thursday. It is during this period that Catholics observe the Lenten fast. This means that on certain days they are not allowed to eat meat or other foods with animal derivatives, such as milk and eggs. Many Christians abstain from eating meat, giving up chocolate and sweets, fasting between meals, or giving up an item for Lent. Some significant observances to Lenten season include Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday.

Lent is the season to observe and commemorate the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is also a time for spiritual renewal and reflection.
The most important thing to remember while celebrating Lent is that Lent is mainly focused to repent our sins. We are serving God within this season.
